Simon Levy
Simon Levy
Simon Levy took over from his father Emmanuel in 1817/18 and first went bankrupt in 1823 and finally gave up silversmithing in 1832 when bankrupt again.
He then seems to have become a travelling salesman for optical supplies and turns up in the Channel Islands where he was murdered on 9 Jan 1846 in a cafe in St Helier.
Simon Levy along with his father Emmanuel was a prominent member of Exeter’s Jewish community.
