A rare George III antique silver pierced cake basket in pristine condition made by Edward Aldridge (Sr. and Jr.).
Made for the inauguration of the Tarporley Hunt Club in 1762 (England’s Oldest Hunt Club). The engraving, of a huntsman, is unusually built into the piece, indicating that the basket was a special commission.

Re John Stamper from “Whitehall Evening” – period in partnership with Edward Aldridge (1753-7).
