Sterling Silver Elizabeth II Sugar Caster made in 1973
This exceptional Elizabeth II sterling silver sugar caster has a circular baluster-shaped form onto a circular stepped spreading domed foot.
The caster has a plain round-bellied body with an applied reeded central girdle.
This caster retains the original hallmarked push-fit cover, which is embellished with alternating finely pierced and plain panels.
Dimensions, height 16.5 cm, base 5 cm.
Weight 5.75 troy oz.
A London silversmith firm whose origins go back to 1791, when John Lias began in business as a buckle maker.
In 1818, he took as his partner, his son, Henry Lias I, and they were joined from 1823 to 1837 by another son, Charles. Henry Lias I and his son, Henry Lias II, were partners from 1850.
In 1879, Henry Lias II formed a firm with James Wakely. In 1884, the firm consisted of James Wakely and Frank Wheeler, becoming Wakely & Wheeler in 1909. In 1957, the business was acquired by Padgett & Braham Ltd.

We deliver to the address provided at the time of purchase but not to PO addresses, as a signature is required upon delivery.
Some countries levy import duties and local taxes. Payment of these is the purchaser’s responsibility and beyond the control of William Walter Antiques Ltd. When the container has reached the destination country, a customs representative will contact you for payment prior to delivery.
Import restrictions are applicable to some destinations, especially the import of products containing materials such as ivory and tortoiseshell. We cannot accept orders requiring shipment to any countries which implement such controls.
All items are checked and photographed prior to packaging, and we aim to dispatch 1-3 days after receiving cleared payment.
