Pair of Georgian Antique Silver Fiddle Thread Pattern Salad Servers made in 1825-26

A rare pair of George IV silver salad servers in the fiddle and thread pattern.
They are made in 1825-26 with the salad spoon made in 1825 by William Johnson and the salad fork 1826 by Charles Eley.
They both bear the same family crest (everything comes from God-English translation) and are in excellent condition.
Salad servers in original condition like this are quite rare and these are fantastic examples.
Dimensions: length 28.2 cm; weight 8.8 troy oz.
Son of William Eley I apprenticed to his father as silversmith 1 May 1811.
Free, 4 November 1818. First mark entered as plateworker , in partnership with his brothers William and Henry , 14 July 1824. Address, 1 Lovell’ s Court, Paternoster Row.
Second mark alone as spoonmaker, 19 January 1825. Address, 2 Lovell Court, Died 15 November 1785, aged seventy-eight and was buried at St Lawrence, Isle of Wight, where his son was vicar ( information , R .J. Malden Esq, great-grandson of the latter).
Son of John Johnson late of Ann Street in St George’s in the East painter and glazier deceased, apprenticed to Thomas Wallis of Red Lion Street, Clerkenwell as goldsmith 2 October 1805.
Free, 6 January 1813. First mark entered as spoonmaker , 9 December 1822, Address ; 38, Provost Street, City Road, Moved to 1 Martin Street, City Road, 26 April 1824. Moved to 51, Ironmonger Row, 5 January 1828. Second mark, 30 May 1835.

Import restrictions are applicable to some destinations, especially the import of products containing materials such as ivory and tortoiseshell. We cannot accept orders requiring shipment to any countries which implement such controls.
All items are checked and photographed prior to packaging, and we aim to dispatch 1-3 days after receiving cleared payment.
