Pair of George III Antique Silver Salt Cellars made in 1798
Pair of fine oval eighteenth century Georgian silver bright cut engraved salt cellars with gilt interiors.
The salt cellars are beautifully hand engraved with floral engraving and with a wreath style cartouche engraved to one side.
They are richly gilded to the interior and are in excellent condition.
A very pretty pair by a good maker.
Dimensions, length 12.5 cm, width 6 cm, height to top of handle 7 cm.
Weight, 5 troy oz.
Robert Jones II, son of Robert Jones I, late of Bartholomew Close goldsmith deceased. Apprenticed Solomon Hougham, 3 October 1787 on payment of £30 he was free on 5 November 1794.
Mark entered as plate worker, 29th January 1796. Address 40, Bartholomew Close , where Heal, not distinguishing between father and son , records him till 1800.
