Description

A good pair of antique silver wine/decanter coasters, which are attractively fluted and have a gadroon border.

The coasters still retain their original oak bases.

The coasters bear the family crest of an heraldic tiger passant to the hallmarked silver centre boss. This crest was used by several families as listed Balfour, Budd, Fletewood, Jacob, Osborn, Osborne, Skerret, Skull, and Walrond.

They are made in London in 1820 by Crispin Fuller.

They were made in the year George III died and the year that George IV ascended to the throne.

They are in excellent condition with very good hallmarks ,not always the case with old wine coasters.  Interestingly one coaster has been struck with Crispin Fullers makers mark twice.

Dimensions, width 14.5 cm,  height 4.5 cm.
