Antique Silver Victorian Egg Cruet made in 1861-63

A delightful antique silver Victorian four cup egg cruet made in 1861 (egg cups) and 1863 (stand) – all by Joseph & Edward Bradbury of London and retailed by Widdowson & Veale, also of London.
This lovely set is in very good condition and has four egg cups that are detachable from the stand. The stand and cups have a very elegant beaded border, and the feet of the stand are finely pierced.
Dimensions: height 16.5 cm, diameter 7.7 cm; weight 13.76 troy oz.
Thomas Bradbury & Son. The firm was active at Arundel Street, Sheffield with a London showroom at 12 Gough Square, Fleet Street.
In 1855, the firm changed its name to Thomas Bradbury & Sons, under the partnership of Joseph and Edward Bradbury (sons of Thomas Bradbury II).
In 1877, the partners were Thomas Bradbury III (brother of Joseph Bradbury) and John Sutherland Henderson.
The partnership was dissolved in 1888 and the firm was managed by Walton Turner Bradbury, Joseph Bradbury Jr and Frederick Bradbury (sons of Joseph Bradbury Sr). Frederick Bradbury is the author of the fundamental book “A History of Old Sheffield Plate”.
We provide worldwide postage/shipping and everything is fully tracked and insured. Purchases will be sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery, FedEx, Parcel Force, A-Z couriers; other delivery providers may be used in extenuating circumstances. We deliver to the address provided at the time of purchase but not to PO addresses, as a signature is required upon delivery.
Some countries levy import duties and local taxes. Payment of these is the purchaser’s responsibility and beyond the control of William Walter Antiques Ltd. When the container has reached the destination country, a customs representative will contact you for payment prior to delivery.
Import restrictions are applicable to some destinations, especially the import of products containing materials such as ivory and tortoiseshell. We cannot accept orders requiring shipment to any countries which implement such controls.
All items are checked and photographed prior to packaging, and we aim to dispatch 1-3 days after receiving cleared payment.
