An attractive antique silver Victorian salver which has fine hand engraved floral decoration.

The salver has an impressive shell border with complementary cast shell design feet.

The salver is in very good condition.

Dimensions: diameter 25.5 cm; weight 19 troy oz.

Joseph Savory I, London silversmith, apprenticed to James Hunt 1760, free 1768.

First mark as small-worker 1772. Second mark as gold worker 1782. Working as goldsmith, cutler and jeweller 1777-78, partnerships (no recorded marks) as Thomas Barnard and Joseph Savory 1779-81, Savory, Farrand and Sheldrake 1793 – 1809, Savory and Pryor cutlers and silversmiths. Adey Bellamy Savory, son of Joseph I, free by patrimony 1802.  6th mark 1826 – 1832. 7th mark, in partnership with Joseph and Albert Savory, 1833. 8th mark (2 sizes) in partnership 1834.

Albert Savory, son of Adey Savory, free by patrimony 1833. 1st mark as plateworker in partnership with his father and brother Joseph II, 1833. 2nd mark (2 sizes) 1834. 3rd mark in partnership with Joseph II only. 4th mark 1835. Joseph Savory II, free by patrimony 1833. 1st mark as plateworker in partnership with his father and brother Albert 1833. 2nd mark (2 sizes) 1834. 3rd mark in partnership with Albert only.

We provide worldwide postage/shipping and everything is fully tracked and insured. Purchases will be sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery, FedEx, Parcel Force, A-Z couriers; other delivery providers may be used in extenuating circumstances. We deliver to the address provided at the time of purchase but not to PO addresses, as a signature is required upon delivery.

Some countries levy import duties and local taxes. Payment of these is the purchaser’s responsibility and beyond the control of William Walter Antiques Ltd. When the container has reached the destination country, a customs representative will contact you for payment prior to delivery.

Import restrictions are applicable to some destinations, especially the import of products containing materials such as ivory and tortoiseshell. We cannot accept orders requiring shipment to any countries which implement such controls.

All items are checked and photographed prior to packaging, and we aim to dispatch 1-3 days after receiving cleared payment.
