Antique Silver Swedish Hip Flask made in 1936
A fine and rare antique silver Art Deco Swedish hip flask of an attractive and unusual rounded shape.
The flask bears the London import mark for 1936.
This is a very good quality flask.
The capacity is just over 250 ml (just under half a UK pint).
Dimensions: height 11.7 cm, width 11.3 cm, depth 2.5 cm; weight 7.75 troy oz.
The company was founded in Stockholm in 1867, and for a long time had a wide production of objects in silver.
The artistic director from 1907 – 1942 was Jacob Ängman, who, like his successor, Sven Arne Gillgren, made significant efforts to promote art industrial design.
During the 1980s, ownership and structural changes led to the break-up of Gab’s management group and the business returning to the original as part of the GENSE Group.

Purchases will be sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery, FedEx, Parcel Force, A-Z couriers; other delivery providers may be used in extenuating circumstances. We deliver to the address provided at the time of purchase but not to PO addresses, as a signature is required upon delivery.
Some countries levy import duties and local taxes. Payment of these is the purchaser’s responsibility and beyond the control of William Walter Antiques Ltd. When the container has reached the destination country, a customs representative will contact you for payment prior to delivery.
Import restrictions are applicable to some destinations, especially the import of products containing materials such as ivory and tortoiseshell. We cannot accept orders requiring shipment to any countries which implement such controls.
All items are checked and photographed prior to packaging, and we aim to dispatch 1-3 days after receiving cleared payment.
