A magnificent and extensive French first standard silver service of plates. All the plates are of shaped form, except the under plates which are circular and all the rims are embellished with a guilloche pattern, in addition the centres are engraved with the coat of arms of Count and Countess Martignone of Milan, Italy.

French Antique Silver Service of Plates made in c.1890
A magnificent and extensive French first standard silver service of plates.
French first standard silver has a millesimal fineness of 950 purity slightly higher that sterling which is 925.
All the plates are of shaped form, except the under / charger plates which are of circular form . The rims are embellished with a stunning guilloche pattern and the centres engraved with the Martignone coat of arms.
The service is comprised of:
24 Dinner Plates
24 Soup Plates
24 Under / Charger Plates
The whole service is made in c. 1890 by Emile Puiforcat of Paris and is engraved with the coat of arms of Count and Countess Martignone of Milan, Italy.
They are all fitted into seven boxes.

The Parisian silversmith is regarded as one of the legendary names in European silver craftsmanship.
Founded in 1820 by the two brothers, Emile and Joseph-Marie Puiforcat, the manufactory soon established itself as a purveyor of silver tableware to various royal households.
We provide worldwide postage/shipping and everything is fully tracked and insured. Purchases will be sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery, FedEx, Parcel Force, A-Z couriers; other delivery providers may be used in extenuating circumstances. We deliver to the address provided at the time of purchase but not to PO addresses, as a signature is required upon delivery.
Some countries levy import duties and local taxes. Payment of these is the purchaser’s responsibility and beyond the control of William Walter Antiques Ltd. When the container has reached the destination country, a customs representative will contact you for payment prior to delivery.
Import restrictions are applicable to some destinations, especially the import of products containing materials such as ivory and tortoiseshell. We cannot accept orders requiring shipment to any countries which implement such controls.
All items are checked and photographed prior to packaging, and we aim to dispatch 1-3 days after receiving cleared payment.
