This beautiful and large sweet basket – in the late 18th century style – is finely pierced and hand engraved with Adam style urns and swags.
It is in excellent condition throughout.
This basket is of a very similar pattern (but slightly smaller in size) to the basket made by Henry Lambert in 1908 – our reference W168x39.

Job Frank Hall and Frederick Sibray founded Sibray Hall of Sheffield and were active as manufacturing silversmiths and electroplaters at Fitzwalter Works, 111 St Mary’s Road. They had London showrooms at 30 Ely Place, Holborn (c. 1890).
On Frederick Sibray’s death in 1891, Charles Clement Pilling entered a partnership with Job Frank Hall until (1896) becoming the limited liability company Sibray, Hall & Co Ltd. F.J. Hall retired (c. 1900) and ownership transferred to C.C. Pilling.
The firm displayed its silverware (dessert services, trophies and shields, cups and bowls, tea and coffee services, etc.) at the Jewellers’ Exhibition of 1912.

Purchases will be sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery, FedEx, Parcel Force, A-Z couriers; other delivery providers may be used in extenuating circumstances. We deliver to the address provided at the time of purchase but not to PO addresses, as a signature is required upon delivery.
Some countries levy import duties and local taxes. Payment of these is the purchaser’s responsibility and beyond the control of William Walter Antiques Ltd. When the container has reached the destination country, a customs representative will contact you for payment prior to delivery.
Import restrictions are applicable to some destinations, especially the import of products containing materials such as ivory and tortoiseshell. We cannot accept orders requiring shipment to any countries which implement such controls.
All items are checked and photographed prior to packaging, and we aim to dispatch 1-3 days after receiving cleared payment.
