Antique Silver George III Salver made in 1801 (The Coat of Arms of Earl of Ranfurly)

A superb George III antique silver salver of circular form with a bold gadroon border.
The salver stands on three conforming feet and is beautifully engraved with the coat of arms of the Earl of Ranfurly (Knox family).
The Earls of Ranfurly is the last Earldom in Ireland created that is still extant.
The salver is in excellent condition and the weight for its size is far superior to normal.
Along with the hallmarks, it is struck with the number 1 and its original scratch weight of 19 oz, 17 pennyweights.
Dimensions: width 22.2 cm; weight 19 troy oz.
Thomas Hannam completed his apprenticeship to John Cafe in 1761 and went into partnership with John Crouch in 1765.
The firm was known particularly as makers of fine quality trays, salvers and waiters.
Their earlier marks also appear on cast candlesticks (likely due to Hannam’s apprenticeship to the Cafes).

We deliver to the address provided at the time of purchase but not to PO addresses, as a signature is required upon delivery.
Some countries levy import duties and local taxes. Payment of these is the purchaser’s responsibility and beyond the control of William Walter Antiques Ltd. When the container has reached the destination country, a customs representative will contact you for payment prior to delivery.
Import restrictions are applicable to some destinations, especially the import of products containing materials such as ivory and tortoiseshell. We cannot accept orders requiring shipment to any countries which implement such controls.
All items are checked and photographed prior to packaging, and we aim to dispatch 1-3 days after receiving cleared payment.
