A very rare early George III toast rack made in the year of America’s independence from Britain.

The five bar toast rack – suitable for four slices of bread – has a wirework frame which is anchored on to the oval bead frame by three rods underneath (this can be removed if needed to assist cleaning).

The toast rack stands on four beautiful ball and claw feet.

This is one of the earliest toast racks one is likely to encounter and is in super condition.

Dimensions: height 12 cm, length 19.7 cm, width 13.4 cm; weight 11 troy oz.

Hallmarks registered prior to March, 1773. His workshop was 6 Foster Lane, London.

He was known for making exceptional cake baskets, inkstands and seems to have specialised in fine pierced work.

Purchases will be sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery, FedEx, Parcel Force, A-Z couriers; other delivery providers may be used in extenuating circumstances. We deliver to the address provided at the time of purchase but not to PO addresses, as a signature is required upon delivery.

Some countries levy import duties and local taxes. Payment of these is the purchaser’s responsibility and beyond the control of William Walter Antiques Ltd. When the container has reached the destination country, a customs representative will contact you for payment prior to delivery.

Import restrictions are applicable to some destinations, especially the import of products containing materials such as ivory and tortoiseshell. We cannot accept orders requiring shipment to any countries which implement such controls.

All items are checked and photographed prior to packaging, and we aim to dispatch 1-3 days after receiving cleared payment.
