Description

This fantastic mustard pot – which is larger than usual – is of barrel shape form and is fitted with a blue glass liner.

It is well hallmarked on the side and correctly part hallmarked on the lid. Robert Jones’ makers mark is struck underneath.

The lid has a finely engraved vacant cartouche and a wonderful trefoil style thumbpiece.

The mustard pot is in excellent condition and comes with a spoon which is made in London in 1804 by George Gray.

Dimensions: length (handle to end) 11.5 cm, width 7.8 cm; weight (including spoon) 6.4 troy oz.

Robert Jones II, son of Robert Jones I, late of Bartholomew Close goldsmith deceased.   Apprenticed Solomon Hougham, 3 October 1787 on payment of £30 he was free on 5 November 1794.

Mark entered as plate worker, 29th January 1796. Address 40, Bartholomew Close , where Heal, not distinguishing between father and son , records him till 1800.

We deliver to the address provided at the time of purchase but not to PO addresses, as a signature is required upon delivery.

Some countries levy import duties and local taxes. Payment of these is the purchaser’s responsibility and beyond the control of William Walter Antiques Ltd. When the container has reached the destination country, a customs representative will contact you for payment prior to delivery.

Import restrictions are applicable to some destinations, especially the import of products containing materials such as ivory and tortoiseshell. We cannot accept orders requiring shipment to any countries which implement such controls.

All items are checked and photographed prior to packaging, and we aim to dispatch 1-3 days after receiving cleared payment.
