Antique Silver George III Fiddle Pattern Salad Servers made in 1804-05

A pair of beautiful quality George III period antique silver fiddle pattern salad servers.
These large servers still bear a contemporary lion crest and are of exceptional weight and condition.
The date letter is that for 1804-05, but they must have been made early in 1805 (just before the Battle of Trafalgar) as Thomas Barker first registered his mark alone, after partnership with his father, on the 7th February 1805.
Dimensions: length 28.7 cm; weight 9.5 troy oz.
Son of Christopher Barker of Pemberton Row, Gough Square, London Silversmith.
Apprenticed to William Fearn of Paternoster Row spoonmaker 5 December 1787 on payment of £5 of the Charity of Christ’s Hospital London.
First Mark entered in partnership with his father as spoon-makers, 11 October 1800. Address : 9 Cross Street , Hatton Garden.
Second mark, on moving to Kirby Street, Hatton Garden , 8 December 1804.
Third Mark alone, 7 February 1805, same address.
Fourth mark ( two sizes) 17 July 1811.
Fifth mark ( two sizes) 1 December 1819.

Import restrictions are applicable to some destinations, especially the import of products containing materials such as ivory and tortoiseshell. We cannot accept orders requiring shipment to any countries which implement such controls.
All items are checked and photographed prior to packaging, and we aim to dispatch 1-3 days after receiving cleared payment.
