A magnificent oval two-handled antique silver George III tray, with a reeded border and floral frieze.
The centre of the tray is engraved with a family crest, framed by a repeat of the frieze.
The tray is in superb condition with wonderful crisp engraving.

Thomas Hannam completed his apprenticeship to John Cafe in 1761 and went into partnership with John Crouch in 1765.
The firm was known particularly as makers of fine quality trays, salvers and waiters.
Their earlier marks also appear on cast candlesticks (likely due to Hannam’s apprenticeship to the Cafes).
