A large antique silver communion cup in superb condition made in 1836 for the First Relief Church Paisley. It is fully marked on the side, and also the foot (which is unusual).

Description

A large antique silver communion cup in superb condition made in 1836 for the First Relief Church Paisley by James McKay of Glasgow.

It is fully marked on the side, and also the foot (which is unusual). On one side it is engraved: “Drink abundantly o beloved for my blood is drink indeed”. On the other side it is engraved: “First Relief Church Paisley 1836”.

The Scottish Presbyterian denomination was founded in 1761.

The communion cup holds over 600 ml.

Dimensions: height 21 cm, width 11.75 cm; weight 16.65 troy oz.

We deliver to the address provided at the time of purchase but not to PO addresses, as a signature is required upon delivery.

Some countries levy import duties and local taxes. Payment of these is the purchaser’s responsibility and beyond the control of William Walter Antiques Ltd. When the container has reached the destination country, a customs representative will contact you for payment prior to delivery.
