A magnificent silver pair of serving spoons with gilt shell bowls , they are superbly made in a beautiful pattern.
The spoons have a discreet family crest to the top of the gilt bowl. The crest is of the Johnstone family of Scotland and in the cartouche the initials A J which could pertain to the original owner , possibly Andrew or Alexander Johnstone.
They are made in London in 1866 by Francis Higgins.
