Robert Gray & Son

Robert Gray began to work in Glasgow in 1776 when he became a freeman. He opened a new business in 1802 under the style Robert Gray & Son. The firm used the Edinburgh Assay Office until 1819, after which, and until 1852, their work was assayed exclusively in Glasgow.
