First mark entered as largeworker, 9 February 1738. Address: The Golden Acorn, Chandos Street. Second mark, 26^th July 1745. Address: Cock Court, St Martin’s Le Grand. Third mark, 1 February 1751. Address: Round Court, Strand. Fourth mark, in partnership with William Sampel, 27 January 1755. Address: New Inn Passage, Clare Market. Fifth mark alone, 3 September 1755, same address. Appears as goldsmith, Albion Buildings, in Parl. Report list 1773. Sixth mark in partnership with Thomas Morley as plate workers, 6 May 1775. Address: 8 Albion Buildings. Last mark alone as smallworker, 3 March 1780.  He appears to have had an exceptionally long working life but the signatures throughout the above entries appear to be from the same hand and there is no reference to a son of the same name. Heal records him as of London up to 1792.
