It is known that Bettridge was John Bettridge who registered as "late of Cocks & Bettridge." The identity of his partner is not recorded. The partnership - which flourished in Birmingham at the beginning of the 19th century - specialised in caddy spoons, vinaigrettes and other smallwares.
