Description

A pair of fine early George III silver cast candlesticks which stand on square-shaped bases with shell motifs on each corner.

They both bear a contemporary family crest of a hunting dog and are in excellent crisp condition.

One candlestick is marked no 1 and the other no 6, indicating that they would have been part of a larger set (almost certainly a set of six).

They are both marked at the top of the capitals with the maker’s mark and standard mark, and are very well hallmarked on the base.

A good set of 18th century candlesticks by the well known candlestick and salver maker, Ebenezer Coker.

Dimensions: height 21 cm; weight 26 troy oz.
