A George IV period vinaigrette with fine engine-turned decoration and a small cartouche to the centre bearing the contemporary initials “EHB”.
The interior is gilt and the grille has a finely engraved cornucopia (horn of plenty).
The box is in good condition.
Dimensions: length 3.65 cm, width 2.6 cm; weight .58 troy oz.
A Birmingham silversmith.
John Bettridge was a highly prized silversmith who specialised in small silver boxes and vinaigrettes.
His marks are seen for 1817 – 1834 and he was a maker of caddy spoons, decanter labels, flatware and vinaigrettes.

Purchases will be sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery, FedEx, Parcel Force, A-Z couriers; other delivery providers may be used in extenuating circumstances. We deliver to the address provided at the time of purchase but not to PO addresses, as a signature is required upon delivery.
Some countries levy import duties and local taxes. Payment of these is the purchaser’s responsibility and beyond the control of William Walter Antiques Ltd. When the container has reached the destination country, a customs representative will contact you for payment prior to delivery.
