An exceptional George III sterling silver toast rack of a shaped arched form.

The toast rack is seven bar and suitable for six slices.

This impressive toast rack stands on four elegant feet.

The toast rack is attractively engraved to one side of the heart shape cartouche, inset within the handle, with contemporary initials.

A lovely early toast rack which is in excellent condition.

Dimensions, length 14.2 cm, width 10 cm, height 14.4 cm.

Weight, 5.7 troy oz.

Hallmarks registered – August, 1798.

From Grimwade: “perhaps son of John Allen, free by patrimony 1 October 1788, described as watch case maker. Only mark entered as smallworker, 10 August 1798. Address: 35 Noble Street. Signs entry with X.”

Mark often found on high quality baskets, coasters, butter dishes and wine funnels.

Import restrictions are applicable to some destinations, especially the import of products containing materials such as ivory and tortoiseshell. We cannot accept orders requiring shipment to any countries which implement such controls.

All items are checked and photographed prior to packaging, and we aim to dispatch 1-3 days after receiving cleared payment.
