First mark entered as largeworker in October 1747 at Aldersgate Street. Second mark - with an unnamed partner - as Samuel Herbert &amp; Co in November, 1750. His workshops by then were in Foster Lane.

A fine maker who specialised in hand pierced work notably on wine coasters, baskets and mustard pots.
