Edward Aldridge

Edward Aldridge entered his first mark in 1724 and worked in Foster Lane. Second mark in 1739 and third mark, in partnership with John Stamper, in 1753. Died 1766. A very fine maker who specialised in beautiful pierced work, most notably on baskets and inkstands.

A lovely pair of Queen Anne Britannia standard sil

A lovely pair of Queen Anne Britannia standard silver trefid spoons made in 1707 by William Scarlett.

The spoons have a reeded rat-tail design to the reverse and still bear the contemporary initials “FL”.

William Scarlett was a specialist maker of spoons of this type and these are fine examples.

This is a wonderful handmade silver model of Chris

This is a wonderful handmade silver model of Christopher Columbus’ ship the ‘Santa Maria’ made in Porto, 1950.

The ship is beautifully represented with fine filigree work and enamel. It is mounted on a dark green marble plinth.

This superb model is in excellent condition and has the sort of handwork which will, probably, never be repeated.

A rare Victorian antique silver vesta case with suspension loop made in Chester in 1896 for Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee.

The case is finely chased with a representation of Queen Victoria in a heart-shaped cartouche amidst floral motifs to one side, and a vacant heart-shaped cartouche amidst floral motifs to the other.

Along with the hallmarks to the inside and lid, it also has a design registry mark struck twice to the sides.
